SILENT REFLECTIONS SERIES. . .

the borrowed tomb

Jesus is all the world to me. . .
But i don’t act like it.
It should not be hard, i just have a problem
doing what I should do
going where I should go
saying what i should say

he looked beyond my fault and saw my need
even when i did not deserve it
he came from glory down here
to this retched place
to die for my sins
even used a borrowed tomb
he did not even own it

a lot of people would say. . . humph
he could not even afford it,
but therein is one of the sacrifices
because he had all the riches in glory
a borrowed tomb
he only needed it for three days.
that is awesome

man’s foot prints led into the tomb
but He just walked on through
and came out the other side.

Oh glory!!!

wind

you have travelled across the country
wreaking havoc in your stead
how many trees have you bent in solemn prayer
how many houses are now windowless or
roofless because
of your folly. . .
your wreckless play

for the moment you are tame
moving a little slowly,
but still brisk and cooooool
you pass before me and around me
ruffling my hair
cooling my sweat
taking away my problems for a moment --
distorting my aura
cleansing my spirit

where do you come from
what is your source
what is your purpose
why are you sometimes destructive. . .

then He said to me. . .
I
am
the wind.

silent frustration

i heard the preacher say
he came 2 preach about silent frustration
i had no idea what he meant
until i began 2 search my soul
he was speaking about that frustration
that goes so long unsatisfied,
it turns into rage
rage that burns as hot as the noonday sun
rage that is almost tangible
rage that is as potent as the strongest acid
rage that eats away at your soul,
until you have nothing more 2 give
nothing more 2 offer your fellowman
almost nothing more for God 2 use

he said to me. . .
A lot of things that happen to you, and your fellow man
are meant to keep you from obtaining your talents and blessings.
use your faith,
though it may be as small a mustard seed,
and build on it build great things
. . .in My name,
and I will sustain them,
as I have sustained you.
So, what do you have to fear.

Nothing.

is it a sin to be an obnoxious human?

Lord,
deliver me from obnoxious christians,
don't get me wrong...
i have nothing against christians--
i am striving to become a better one everyday,
but what upsets me, is those who
think that simply because they are,
everyone else must like them.

let me see if i can explain a little better,
i am sometimes offended and
would rather stay away from
one of my so called
"sisters in Christ"

when i met her i was impressed by her
outer carriage of christianity,
which purported to be her inner carriage as well.
she struck me as a holy ghost saint,
rooted, grounded,
and fire baptised.
i have no doubt that her faith is strong
and that she believes in her heavenly father--
as only a true child can.

what seems obnoxious to me,
is the things of the world that she has not shaken off.
the sister walks the competive edge of the corporate world,
and can almost be called sneaky.
gossip seems to be an old friend of hers,
and she is not above using guilt,
especially against fellow x-tians,
to get what she wants.

how do i deal with this obnoxious sister?
after all, we are both human.
being human ain't no sin,
revelling in that humanity is.
i was taught that we are supposed 2b
striving to live as Jesus lived--
allow him to shine through in us.

if he is ordering our steps, our thoughts, our paths,
do we have time to be obnoxious,
to act like a "normal"
human being?
if we are living in Christ
and living in the
Word...
we are not normal by any stretch of the imagination.

(imagination--that  is something else that is supposed 2b brought under his subjection)
